Outdoor Rifle/Pistol Range Repair & Enhancements

Effective Monday, August 18, 2014, the excavating contractor will commence range work. As a consequence, the Board of Directors has deemed it essential that the outdoor range facility (25 yard, 50 yard, 100 yard and 125 yard rifle/pistol as well as shotgun patterning area) be closed to usage, for the duration. The anticipated completion date of this project is Saturday, August 23, 2014. The definite re-opening date will be announced thru e-mail, as well as posted notice in the club vestibule.

Every effort will be made to minimize your inconvenience.

Thank you in advance for your full cooperation.

Again the rifle and pistol ranges will be closed effective Monday August 18, 2014 until further notice.

Outdoor Rifle & Pistol Range Repair and Enhancements

During the month of August, much needed steps will be taken, as a safety precaution, to heighten the backstop berms on the 25 and 50 yard ranges. In addition, the 125 yard rifle range will be further extended to 150 yards. Concurrent with the foregoing activities, the 25 yard outdoor range will be approximately doubled in width. This will be facilitated by bulldozing the easternmost side berm further eastward. The present backstop will be adjusted in width, accordingly. The shotgun patterning facility will be relocated elsewhere. In anticipation of the 25 yard range work (berm displacement), the present east berm will need to be cleared of vegetation. Further, tree cutting will be necessary on the east side of the present shotgun patterning range, to provide a clear spot for the new berm. Help is therefore requested from the pistol fraternity, in order to make this project a complete success.

Have you a chainsaw and a spare hour? This is your range. Please help out.

During the excavating and earthmoving phase of this project the outdoor ranges on the east side of Rector Road will be closed in their entirety. Date specifics shall be forthcoming.
